Description
With the factory engines there are no additional charges if, for example, your core does not have a VAR crankshaft (AD), phase III 7-stud crankcase, or has parts that are not serviceable, re-usable, etc., there are no additional charges added later for normal wear or normal repairs on your old engine. In other words, there are no “we didn’t know about that until we opened it up” surprises. If your core is operable (and returned complete) you’re guaranteed full credit, this is a guaranteed price, not a penny more!
It’s also worth noting that Continental recently extended the TBO on this engine by 200 hours. The TBO for a Factory-Rebuilt, or Factory-New engine is now 1800 hours instead of 1600 hours as with field-overhauled engines. Additionally, operators who fly frequently (40 hours per month) receive an additional 200 hour TBO increase (2000 hour TBO). Please note that this TBO extension does NOT apply to field-overhauled engines (engines overhauled outside of Continental) unless they are performed to Continental’s requirements.
